How do we best ensure that today’s students in urban communities are ready and prepared for tomorrow’s opportunities? We invest the time and resources needed to obliterate a failed educational system by strengthening relationships between communities and the government. In 2015, a major achievement was accomplished when the government passed the ‘Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), allowing each state to develop a road map for advancing student success and educational equity. For this particular session, there will be discussions on the different innovations and promising practices that schools, districts and states should pursue in the mission to improve educational equality and close achievement gaps.
