In the early hours of December 13th, 2017, Twitter was in a frenzy! What was the cause of all of the hype? Black Women! The representation of black women during the Alabama Senate elections was so dynamic that it caused twitter to create a hashtag entitled #BlackWomen, paying homage to them. What this victory confirmed, and what this session will explore is the fact that black women are a powerful force at the ballot box and that when they galvanize, organize and strategize they are extremely important in changing the political makeup of this country.
