True power lies in being able to use your own liquidity to invest in your community. Imagine an African-American publication who has served as an editorial platform for African-American women since 1970 once again being solely owned and operated by African-Americans. This is a celebration of that transformation and success story! Richelieu Dennis, founder and chair of Essence Ventures LLC and Michelle Ebanks, president of Essence Communications will share their stories about the recent acquisition of Essence Magazine by Essence Ventures. The goal of this forum is to promote black ownership and gain influential feedback on how to take our power back.
