Stephanie DeVane joined the Urban Empowerment Fund in December 2013, with responsibility for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of its small business lending program, including underwriting, risk management, policy oversight, and compliance reporting. Since March 2015, DeVane has served as the management executive for all National Urban League small business and entrepreneurship programs nationally, including management and oversight of the 13 Entrepreneurship Centers located in key affiliates.

For seven years, DeVane served as Associate Director, Financial Services for Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF), where she was responsible for loan structuring, underwriting, business development, and providing technical assistance services to clients. Prior to NFF, DeVane worked as an independent consultant providing credit training and risk advisory services to financial institutions and had an extensive career in corporate banking.  

DeVane holds an MBA in Finance from the Clark Atlanta University Graduate School of Business Administration and a BA in Economics from Tufts University. She is an active volunteer for Girl Scouts.
