Jared-Brossett
Jared C. Brossett was elected as District "D" Councilmember in February, 2014, bringing with him over 10 years of service to the district's constituents.
A graduate of New Orleans public schools and Xavier University of Louisiana, Brossett has dedicated his life to upholding a commitment to serve his community. After earning his college degree, Brossett served in a variety of public service roles, first as a college intern working in the District D office of the New Orleans City Council, then as legislative aide, and later as chief of staff. He is also a graduate of Harvard University's Kennedy School's Executives in State and Local Government Program.
In 2009, Brossett was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives as the District 97 state representative. While serving in the House of Representatives, Brossett served as Chair of the Select Committee on Hurricane Recovery and as a member of the State House Appropriations Committee.
As a City Councilmember, Brossett serves as Chairperson of the Transportation and Airport Committee and is a member of the Utilities and Telecommunications Committee, Economic Development and Special Projects Committee, Public Works, Sanitation and Environment Committee, Revenue Estimating Conference, and Budget, Audit, and Board of Review Committee.
