Bobby Ashley
Bobby Ashley was born and raised in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn, the setting of The Ave, the hit Amazon Prime Video web series, now nearly 20 million streams strong, which he conceived, writes, directs and produces.
At 16, he made his first short film “Thicker Than Water” and at 20, his second short, promoting HIV awareness, entitled “Positive”, followed by another short called “Repercussions” at 21, which won an award in the online Best Shorts Competition
While a 22-‐ year old junior studying film production at Brooklyn College, Bobby Ashley independently launched “The Ave” on Amazon Prime Video. On his graduation day and just before his 24th birthday the following year, he learned that the first season of “The Ave” had garnered 5 Million streams. He also did his first television interview on New York’s WPIX-‐Channel 11
His new comedy web series, Single Man Problems,” is an official selection of 3 festivals so far, including the HBO Latino New York Film Festival.
