Adrienne Cochrane
President and Chief Executive Officer/Urban League of Greater Hartford

Adrienne W. Cochrane is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Urban League of Greater Hartford, founded in 1964 as an affiliate of the National Urban League. The community based, not-for-profit organization promotes self-empowerment and offers opportunities to achieve educational, occupational and economic equality in the Connecticut Capital Region.

Since taking the helm in September 2010, Cochrane has built successful partnerships and strategic alliances; stabilized agency operations and revamped the organizational structure; secured new, multi-year funding from diverse sources; and increased operating net revenue. 

Cochrane is a well-regarded, results oriented leader with extensive experience in program design, development and implementation, fund development, budgeting, and community building. Among other honors, Cochrane was honored by the Connecticut State Conference of NAACP Branches as one of the 100 Most Influential Blacks in Connecticut and by the Greater Hartford Branch of the NAACP as a Trailblazer in Community Service. She serves on the board of American Red Cross, Connecticut and the Connecticut chapter of Teach for America, and was appointed to the Governor’s Youth and Urban Violence Commission in 2015.

Cochrane previously served as Chief Programs Officer for the Urban League of Broward County and Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for Quad County Urban League.
