State of Education in Black America

For over 75 years, the National Urban League has analyzed on the state of US P-16 education through its advocacy, program and policy work and its annual State of Black America report. And every year, the findings show some progress or potential, but are ultimately disappointing. Education is deeply steeped in the African American community as a promising path to success and prosperity. But too often this promise goes un-realized. What can Black leaders, educators, and organizations do to improve our education system? Where are the strengths upon which we can build? Where are the gaps and weaknesses? What are the right indicators of progress? A panel of experts will tackle these questions and more.
